Did the Breaking Bad ending prove how genius the Sopranos ending really was?

Only question I have is whether the guy also killed Carmella and AJ. Can't help but think he did, and only Meadow survived.

The Breaking Bad finale was perfect for what it was... tying up loose ends. I still think The Shield had the best ending tho... but I'd put Ozymandias on the same level as the Shield finale. That's why I have no problem with the BB finale because they tied up everything.. in 8 episodes.

The BB finale is just more proof that you can't please everybody no matter what, especially with the internet and everyone having the ability to express their opinion... I remember the Sopranos ending and all the people calling it too pretentious, a cop out, etc....

I got a couple things to say.

First off, I loved the "Sopranos" ending. I thought it was fairly obvious he died given the context clues throughout the series. If he didn't die it's a terrible ending, because there's no reason for the quick cut to black. I understand David Chase being :comeon: about people constantly asking "what happened to the Russian?", year after year, because that's not really integral to the story. Tony's fate is integral to the story, so I doubt he'd leave it open to interpretation. That would be lazy as fukk.

As far as "BB"....the whole episode mirroring the song "El Paso"....genius. He died in the arms of his Felina.

Breaking Bad...I enjoyed the finale, I remember thinking oh man Walt is a badass, even though I found him to be a distasteful character. But in hindsight to me, the problem with the finale is that everything worked out exactly as Walt planned. He got his money to his family, he became a national story, his rail gun killed all the bad guys, he saved Jesse...it felt like a pro Walt fan fiction. Compare the ending to the ending of most major shows, like The Sopranos or The Wire or The Shield...it just felt like a comic book to me.

Actually nothing worked out how he planned, which is why "Ozymandias" happened. I seriously doubt Walt intended to get Hank killed, alienate Jesse who was his second son, lose 90% of the money he had, lose his family, go on the run, and die in the process. As plans go that's not a very good one.

The only way "Felina" can be seen as a victory is if you disregard the entire series up to the final episode. He died alone with everyone he's ever known hating him. His family will never know the money came from him, which is a huge fukking pill to swallow given how obsessed he was with wanting credit for that the entire series. That's not even counting all the collateral damage and death through out the series leading up to "Felina".

Fred.
