refreshing is all about access tokens for API calls. you can sign up for the coli using twitter or google so you dont have to do all the registration info. when you sign into one of those places it will check to see if that account is associated with a coli account. theres a bunch of sites that offer this, amazon, twitter, facebook, instagram, google, linkdin, flickr, reddit, paypal, yahoo, tumblr...etc. its what makes single sign on possible
you can check your google permissions to see who you've given access to if you're really concerned that we somehow got access to your google accounts
