Reggie was a poor mans klay Thompson. If he's your best player then your aren't a contender. He never made even an all NBA second team (just two all NBA third team nominations) and never made an all defensive team. Just 19% of his made shots were not assisted on, so he couldn't create for himself or for others. Never finished top ten in MVP voting. The bulls got pushed that far because they were running on fumes after reaching at least the conference finals all but one year from 1990-98. That 50+ wins graphic is outdated you're basing your statement on, and the majority of those teams Kobe "beat" were either while Shaq was on the team or of the 50-54 win variety. Very few of them were real contenders. I certainly hope you're not trying to prop up those nuggets or jazz teams or that rockets team missing McGrady and that lose Yao during the series. Los Angeles didn't face Dallas in the playoffs until 2011 and they hada few seasons of a suspect defense that no team could win a title with, so you get no points for bringing them up as a team the lakers faced and when they played the spurs in 2003, Dirk had a torn meniscus. Portland lost in the first round each of the 3 years from 2001-03, so they were done as contenders after 2000. Try harder.

Damn....NBA discussion has really went down hill on The Coli:snoop:

Reggie Miller is a poor man's Klay Thompson:wow:

Talking about his Finals losses is an OFF shoot of his stans talking about "Finals appearances" as if that's a major accomplishment when comparing him to MJ lol

It backfired

While I do agree that Reggie Miller is overrated. To say that he's a poor mans Klay is straight up trolling. Klay has had a few great playoff games as the second option. Reggie had 12 seasons averaging 18 ppg and Klay has 4 so far. Reggie led his team to deep playoff runs. Klay could one day surpass Reggie as a player but he needs to lead a team first.

:ehh: Not to demean a fantastic career that Reggie had, but his rep as an all time great is highly overstated. My point was that overall it's certainly not over the top to suggest Thompson is better than Reggie was and you can't expect to compete for a title realistically if him or Jalen Rose is your best player.

No they weren't. They were rooting for Doc and he was a sympathetic figure. I was around for it.

Sports culture back then wasn't built on hate like it is today.
back then games were on tape delay and nba wasn't big business.

the champion shyt actually started with Jordan. He;s great, he's dynamic, but he's a loser.

I'm done with the comparisons and Finals argument.

Lebron may or may not be better than Mike. But, the muhphukka took two teams to the finals four times and got atleast one with each.

Dude is damn good, but, sports media needs to argue, so we can't appreciate it.

he got to the finals with them. he proved that the team was good enough to finish as best team in his conference multiple times befoe. I don't think it was necessary to join the 2nd best player in your conference and maybe the 3rd best i mean who do yall compete against now lol

But the East is a cakewalk and far below the West so being good enough to get to the finals with them means absolutely nothing. They're going against the best team in a vastly superior conference, right? :jbhmm:

It's like saying because a WNBA is good enough to the finals, they're good enough to win. Being the best of the weakest conference ever means nothing. :jbhmm:

Isn't that the argument used to say why getting to the finals 7 times doesn't matter? :jbhmm:

Which is it? :jbhmm:

How old are you? Reggie went head to head with Jordan repeatedly. He was considered the best long range shooter in league history before Ray Allen. Holla at us when Klay leads a team without Steph and is good enough to go against the league's best player with no fear. Reggie would've had a ring if he ain't run into Shaq.

Who has claimed Lebron isn't good? Saying he isn't the GOAT isn't the equivalent of saying he isn't good. Also he stacked the talent in his favor for each of his last two runs to the finals. It would be like if America granted citizenship to all the Jamaican track athletes and put them on the US Olympic squad but still lost a majority of their gold medal relay races but still bragged about how many silvers they got. :usure:

Are you fukking smoke meth?

Are you an actual crack addict?

You're telling me, @valet you fukking believe, Michael Jeffrey Jordan, probably the most ruthless perfectionist competitor in the history of sports, if asked "Hey would you like to be the only guy to ever win two three-peats without losing?" He would've preferred to have lose 6 additional times in the finals just to go there more?

He retired after he won, like twice, if MJ lost 6 times in the finals he probably would've shot Scottie Pippen. I'm just saying. Michael Jordan in no alternate reality loses six times in the finals, that's the point, he was a fukking super saiyan sports icon.
