Did the "how many Finals losses" begin with Lebron?

I honestly don't remember this growing before Lebron came along. And it certainly doesn't translate to other like football. Isn't the point to get to the Finals? I'm sure you asked Jordan would he rather get there 12 times and lose 6. He would have chosen to get there every year.

That narrative started after 2007. You started hearing on the radio "he can never be the best because he's already lost in the finals" from lots of the mainstream outlets. It mostly stemmed from :skip: going on tv and trying to argue that Jordan would've led the 2007 cavaliers to a title.

Yeah, but that narrative wasn't taken seriously back then because the Cavs were supremely overmatched. Anyone who watched the playoffs that year knew the Spurs were going to roll the Cavs. Even now, most people give LeBron a pass on 2007.

Yes... Don't let these nikkas Juelz you into thinking otherwise.. Never heard a lot of the shyt I hear about LeBron before him.. It use to be greats lose and we understand because greats lose and have lost and that was understood.. Now if you don't win every damn thing you are a fraud and you are wack.. The rings matter but they don't take away from greatness.. That's not understood now..

When Jordan had two rings, he said Bird and magic were who he was chasing. He put that out there. He said those two were above him. He set them as the standard he was chasing. He set out to surpass those two and did and so then he became the gold standard.

Lebron wants to talk all this "im chasing a ghost" shyt, "striveforgreatness" hashtags propaganda, but the moment he gets compared to the GOAT he's chasing, its ,"why cant i just be me?", "WHEN the game's over, I'm thinking about going home and playing with my sons. There's more to life than basketball." He wants to be considered the greatest but hates being compared to the greatest because of his failures and how they dont stack up.
