Did the "how many Finals losses" begin with Lebron?

Losing in the Finals just means you're the last team to lose in the NBA season...thats it. You dont get extra points on the resume for having a bunch of Finals losses:manny:

Michael Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA...won 6 Championships. 40% success rate.

Not including this year yet, LeBron's played 13 complete seasons in the NBA...he won 3 Championships so far. 23% success rate. Even if LeBron won this year, he'd still be behind Jordan with 4 Championships in 14 seasons, a 29% success rate.

Losing in the Finals dont give you any extra props....word to Elgin Baylor:ufdup:

Except Kobe made it out of that conference 7 times. Which means he had to face 3 of those Western Teams before meeting up with the east (where his teams took care of business 5 times out of 7)

Kobe lost to two VERY special EAST teams.

Lebron has lost 4 times already to this conference. Ofc his stupid ass record in the first round is good, dude playing against sub .500 teams in the first round.

You dumb af for actually needing me to explain that to you.

Kobe lost to the greatest defense in the modern era and then to probably the second greatest defense after that. If Bron had to play out West against the Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Thunder, Suns, Rockets and in recent years, the Warriors, dude probably would have only went to half the Finals he went to. Ironically, he would be looked at more favorably if he was 2/3 in the Finals or 3/4 but, that's how it goes. Nobody about to give you brownie points for making the Finals :mjlol: You gotta win fakkit. Your teacher aint about to give you an A in the Final exam just because you came to class all year and got 90s on every test. You gotta earn the A on the Final too.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Ain't nobody even thought of a damn "Finals Record" til dey heard dem 2 idiots on First Take say it, that's why I don't even take anybody who actually uses it as an argument seriously. Any nikka who actually says: "Finals Record" or "Clutch Gene" opinion is automatically thrown out the window as far as I'm concerned. Let's me know that Skip Bayless is your leader and has shaped the way you look at basketball and that says alot.
well you must hate literally every commentator in and on sports... i haven't seen a single one, including past nba players, to not bring up lebrons finals record

This "getting to the finals should be praised" shyt would be like praising someone for getting an interview but not getting hired.

Applying is the first round.
The interview is the finals.

If you don't get the interview, clearly your resume sucked and you didn't deserve to be interviewed. You get the interview, you better get the job. Jordan got the job each time he interviewed. Lebron got sent home with no call back.

Bron stans would be like "at least he got interviewed:skip:".

can't believe you had the audacity to type that dumb ass shyt. And then on top of it you actually thought you made a great point :mjlol::russ:

Considering Lebron was a sidekick to Dwade in the 2011 finals and still choked that whole series away to an old ass Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, JJ Berea, Deshawn Stevenson, & an aging Dirk, what you should say is that "any nikka dat was ever a sidekick, and still couldn't even play that role, shouldn't be mentioned wit Jordan"

the ether
People are talking like those two Lakers wins in 1988 and 1989, when Magic and Worthy were carrying the team, are what cemented Kareem's legacy as a top-3 all-time player. Because if the Lakers lost those two years when Kareem was nearly 40 years old, then Kareem would be 4-6 in Finals instead of 6-4.

Wilt caught that shyt all the time

Nah, Wilt caught shyt for not beating Russell. He caught shyt for only having 1 title in his prime and adding 1 more at the end of his career.

But post me a quote from anyone EVER saying that Wilt's 4 Finals loses were the problem before 2007. Post anyone saying that Wilt going 2-0 in the Finals would be better than Wilt going 2-4.

Thas because his predecessors.. the Jordans, Kobes, and Duncans of the world were not losing that much.

Magic lost 4, Kareem lost 4.

Before 1980 Kareem was just 1-2 in NBA Finals. After the 1984 Finals he was still only up to 3-3. But I challenge you to find a single NBA writer saying something stupid like "Kareem's losing record in the Finals challenges his claim to be the greatest NBA player in history" or someone in 1984 saying, "If Kareem loses one more time in the Finals than he will have a losing record and his reputation will suffer accordingly."
