It is a lot in marriage rates, but I’d say a man with money isn’t exactly looking for an established in her career/age woman
this isn't true. now if you're talking millionaire playboy money (elon musk type businessmen, athletes, etc) , sure. but six figure professional? most of them marry women with education and careers. all my male friends from stanford and wharton are married to educated women with six figure careers except a small handful who are super religious and just married another religious person. even in the workplace, most these men in tech all have wives in tech, law, medicine, etc. even the ones married to teachers, those women have masters

Brotha at 30 i was not looking for anyone under 23-24

As i moved up In education i wasn’t looking at that level either

That's your preference. I see nothing wrong and pay no mind to what folks do. :yeshrug: Some guys say women 28+ have baggage. Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but it makes sense to me why they go younger. I know the single women I met had kids, but that's was probably the setting I was in.

19 aint "grown" at all :what:

You still a kid at that age.

And yet you can vote, join the military to kill, lease an apartment, go to a strip club, sign up to do porn, sign up for onlyfans, etc. Some 18 yr olds gone on to have shyt lives, other 18 yr olds go on to have great lives.

All those are adult things.

I really don’t think anything they did back then was the right way. I think people should find themselves before they get married. But I can see why men would want that it’s easier to groom people that have never experienced life.

Nobody is saying marry some old lady but you would really be cool with your daughter graduating high school then getting married to somebody in their 30s? You think that wouldn’t do anything to her growth as a person? Even my sexist ass dad told me to live on my own, go to school, start my career then get married and I got married at 23.
1 that’s assuming majority of the women were manipulated, i don’t think that was the case, ultimately you discover and get better in a marriage, what did you know at 18-23 better than you know now, years later married,

all it did was lead me to thinking i knew love and a child, i think had i stayed with some girls and worked it through I’d be better for it, i think people feel like they can do better and be better but it just leads to more strife

I will say school makes a dating pool, so i can see and understand that notion, but that’s a small number of men, in chiropractic school a few folks married others in the program, but i also know even more who aren’t married to other professionals, you know how many single black women lawyers i knew in Nola ? I think we are speaking from our respective corners, but I’d be willing to bet more professional men don’t marry up or lateral than women, women don’t like dating down typically, men don’t care

I’m sure Bey would be famous regardless but without Jay I don’t think she’s GOAT status like she is seen as. Having a family/steady marriage is always marketable. I know a husband/wife team that they hate each other being closed doors but they play up the perfect marriage in front of the cameras.

I've said this before, but people bringing up "She needs to experience life" is a shaming tactic.

An 18 yr old woman would be far better off under a 'good' older man. A lot of mid 30 yr old women have nothing to show for their 20s or 30s.
A lot of mid 30s men are unfortunately in the same boat these days. :francis:

Exactly. I definitely see more middle and upper middle class women dating down than vice versa. Most of the middle to upper middle class men I know are with wives who are about equal.

Yeah it makes sense just in case they get divorced. If a 6 figure man marries a waitress they pockets gone get hit heavy:whew:

The more a guy makes, the less he cares about what a woman makes. At the same time, don't want a dumb woman with no goals.

No she wouldn’t :russ:

Breh it’s 2023 not 1923. An 18 year old woman is far better off having the guidance and support of her parents. Just like Beyoncé did which is why she is where she is. Not becuz of Jay

And what do you mean by “nothing to show?” There’s plenty of women who are in their mid 30s with great careers becuz of what they did in their 20s and 30s

It starts with her parents of course, but a good husband is also essential for that family foundation. Some dudes out there is paying for their college courses or helping prop up her business. Could you pay for a woman's college education at 22?

breh, this isn't reality and doesn't match what multiple studies have said. you only see it truly espoused amongst black men who see education/profession as a way to unlock unlimited women. most white collar professionals marry people of the same status (doesn't mean they make the same money) but they care about having a wife/husband who brings something to the table. and the people i'm talking about didn't just marry from the same school, they married people from comparable schools (ie a man from stanford would have a wife from duke...not pine bluff state A&U) or people who worked comparable careers (ie their wife might be in marketing at google while they're an engineer at Uber). i don't know any of the white collar professional men i went to school with who married some chick from a completely different socioeconomic class just because she was bad/hot/fine. people are trying to get their household income up, those men married women with similar educations and serious careers.

No I couldn’t and I’m 41 now and wouldn’t even think about getting with a woman who needs me to pay for them to go to school. I’m not a damn sponsor

It’s mind boggling how someone’s random contrarian purposely provocative ‘I wanna go viral’ post leads to actual debate. Their misuse of the term groom, also the incorrect facts (beyonce was on a star trajectory before jay z)…but nggas will still debate it! Nggas will debate ANYTHING we are in idiocracy.

By "experience life" they really mean "get dikked down by multiple men." :coffee:
