No Pau and Kobe goes down in history as only a great sidekick.

Nice try, lame.
Not really, in the absence of pau any number of moves that made the lakers legitimate contenders instead of kobe and a bunch of bums would've sufficed to forcibly shut up the last few idiots who think it's possible for an all nba 1st teaemer putting up basically 30 a game during title runs to only be considered "just a sidekick"...Pau's not some kind of singular talent that it's impossible to replace in a championship puzzle...it's the reason memphis was willing to trade him for financial relief and youth in the first place

If three Finals appearances (and two titles) in five years is underachieving i'd bet every other GM in the league would take that resume.

you got some incredibly high standards if you think this group underachieved.

People call him the best player of this generation (they're wrong but whatever) so we should have the highest possible expectations for him.

yeah, I wonder what TMac woulda done with a great big man.

If the lakers don't acquire pau, they still have marc gasol and the cap flexibility to bring in a guy like zach randolph.....that woulda led to even more rings

Youre wasting your time debating this with profasi. He's too emotional to be rational about this one.

Write as many excuses and fantasy scenarios as you want

Doesn't change reality:

No Pau? No finals MVPs for Kobe. The end.

Replace pau with any other all star big man and he wins rings

What coach other than dantoni does nash win mvps, first team all NBA and hall of fame votes with?

any other offensive-minded coach, which is a lot easier to get than another all star big man in the Lakers situation
