did the NBA nullify their "dress code" policy after Iverson left?

They ain't just relax the dress code, they embrace how they dress today. I think they gave out a fashion award last year to JR Smith and all I could remember thinking at the time is none of the stuff he had on was really conservative or a suit like they were pushing in the early 2000's.

In the long run, even though I think it was a bs policy, Stern probably saved the league doing stuff like that to change the image of the NBA cause 'Malice in the Palace' probably could have killed the league if they didn't clean it up.

Everyone was dressing like Iverson in the early-mid 00s :yeshrug:Fitteds with du-rags underneath with wide leg jeans and 3X tall tees from Champs :russ:

It was Philly dress code basically. EVERYONE was rocking it.

The dress code didn't clean up anything but time did. I never even noticed how players dressed on the bench until the rule came into effect.

After a few years went by and newer/more marketable stars came into the league, the Malice at the Palace was forgotten.

That Pistons/Pacer fight was a real bad look for the league. I'm sure they have still lost fans and sponsors from that. Before that brawl, they used to embrace hip hop culture while looking for a replacement for MJ. Immediately after that, before the next season starts, they enforce a dress code. Time of course will heal all wounds and its mostly forgotten, but he still had to fix the image at the time. 'You are not going to look like a rapper on the sideline.' 'You are not going to talk back to the ref.' There was one point they were given out techs like candy cause of this. It was to appease that conservative base that will buy front row tickets and sponsorship into the product cause that's the type of stuff they complain about with athletes. Now that we are away from that, they can relax on those policies cause they got a new crop of guys and fashion has changed.

It's not nullified but it's not enforced the way that it was life after it was first implemented.

Out here in my damn drawls
Depends on what Sabo feels like that particular day

Sometimes he comes in looking sharp as fukk then some nights he comes in looking like he just had a brawl with his closet

Im talking about the outfits he wears that look like he barely escaped a sexual assault from a pack of drunk honeybadgers

Stern's dress code stated that all players must dress in business or conservative attire while arriving and departing during a scheduled game, on the bench while injured, and when conducting official NBA business (press interviews, charity events, etc.). The new dress code banned fashions most often associated with hip-hop culture, specifically: jerseys, jeans, hats, do-rags, T-shirts, large jewelry, sneakers and Timberland style boots.[3]
sounds like stern just went home, turned on rap city and
