From what I remember the dude who made the record (Tracmarc or something, hes the other guy rapping on it) sampled MOP's ad-libs on it and then like a couple of years later MOP sued him and WWE and got paid

I'm not sure the whole story but it wasn't really an in house WWE record, like Cena had recorded for that rap album he made in 05 (I think that's when it was also first used as his entrance 04-05) and he just gave it to WWE to use as his entrance so they sued him

Edit:

Seems like MOP dismissed the lawsuit on some sort of out of court agreement so they got something. Surprised they only sued for $150k, that seems like nothing considering Ante Up was their biggest record and hit when it dropped and Cena and WWE's mainstream visibility, I thought they could sued for millions.

On everything I love, I swear that I was going to ask (either in the TLCs thread or Raw thread) if The Trademarc was getting bread from Cena's theme being on TV every week.

...and this thread made me realize that dude was white. :ohhh:

"It's gon' be what it's gon' be." :wowwow:
Trademarc is Cena's cousin. He didn't produce it, Jake One did.

If they really settled for 150k they stupid. Cena's theme would sound empty without it now. Plus it gets played on national tv weekly.(pushed to fans nationally), video games, ppvs, etc. I woulda held Coke over a barrel for a million in damages plus future royalties
these street dudes have no clue when it comes to business
