I have absolutely no problem with this shooting. If the store clerk had thrown the first punch and dude retaliated, then fine. BUt the black dude attacked him first so heck yeah i would have shot him too

ZERO problem with it? I wouldn't say all that.. it's an unfortunate situation all around man

Ok. I was watching on mute

Damn shame. What happened to the guy though, seems like he survived

If he did. At least he will not do this again.
From everything I was able to gather around the web it seems like he survived. Lesson learned hopefully.

Yeah i don't doubt it because they did mention in one version that i read that he had 2 other guys with him, it's just that they were a little off camera.

And that's another factor that couldve contributed to the clerk shooting so quickly. He couldve felt very threatened by being outnumbered and not knowing what they had on him.

...and yet that adds even more reason to question why the hell would he voluntarily unlock the doors and welcome the confrontation :mindblown:

Okay,
Let's say you're out and about and armed. You find yourself in a confrontation with someone and it escalates to the them shoving you.

You're going to shoot them since they touched you? :usure:

A private citizen has no duty morally (or legally in some States) to leave him in once piece.

I have a Sig P228, and I would empty a whole clip with no remorse. I'm not fighting and I do not want to be bothered.

Most of the guys out there will tell you that you should have 3 or 4 things ahead of your gun:

Avoidance (Awareness of your surrounding + walking away)
Taser
Pepper Spray
Knife

All I can tell you, if you live in stand your ground state, you take a huge risk arguing or fighting with anyone.

In non-stand your ground state, he is supposed to eat that punch because there is a duty to retreat.

But he is in Houston, and as long as it was not intentional or premeditated he can blow someone head smooth off for much less.

The legal veil, and you're right... but how do you feel from a moral standpoint? You would gun someone down just for shoving you?
My thing is that it would depend on a few factors. It would depend on how heated our confrontation is. If he's shoving me to try to intimidate me and "punk" me, I don't think I'd be inclined to shoot the fella. But if it's a "let's fight" type of shove, or if he shoves me to the ground or with excessive force, I'm shooting. I don't think I would take the chance of the shove to the ground leading to him pulling out a knife and diving in on me blade first.

A lot of responsible gun owners, will tell you put 3 or 4 things ahead of your gun. I subscribe to that philosophy.

Avoidance and awareness is #1. It can help in those shoving or trying to punk you situations. Also, you won't feel embarrassed cause your lady know you have a knife or a gun. I keep a knife on me usually, if the police ask I tell them I use it to open boxes and cut rope.

#2, #3, #4, and #5. You can use a taser, fist/martial arts, knife, pepper spray, etc. In most states you are legally required to use excessive force as a last resort. So there is a duty to retreat or to use non-lethal force.

But if I am in physical danger I will shoot and I won't feel morally wrong.

I can respect that. I mean at the end of the day, this is exactly the risk you inherit when you go around assaulting people. Everyone will have a different reaction and few of those reactions have a very happy ending.

yeah.

what nikkas fail to realize is you dont know what is going through that clerk head. dude really doesnt know if son got a strap. doesnt know if hes about to get the brakes beat off him. he doesnt know if son going to come back and shoot shyt up. he just doesnt know.

anyone that snuffs you like that is unpredictable and is now a threat.

what was the clerk suppose to do? not pull out the strap until son pulled out a strap? :childplease: it would of been too late.

its a messy situation all around. I dunno if I'd have the heart to clap a nikka for snuffing me. Id probably just want to throw hands, but then again, ive never been robbed or beat before.
Yeah you right bruh. I know I aint takin NO chances in them type situations
