Did this breh deserve to be shot?

Never heard this story before. It's from 2012.

Young brother gets into a confrontation with a store clerk which leads to him striking the clerk.

The clerk then shoots him.

Self defense?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Nah, dude posed no serious threat that would allow the use of deadly force.

He didnt even hit that hard from the look of the footage.

The store clerk unlocking the door to confront the kid is what I don't understand.

Your doors are locked, some crazy kid is outside going off on you.. leave your door closed until he goes away.

Him unlocking the door to allow for the face-to-face confrontation that ensued just seems suspect. And I doubt he would've done it had he not had a gun on him.

It just reeks of him being on some "vigilante" shyt for having been violently robbed 2 weeks prior.

And on the flip side to that, many could say, "well if the kid never struck him..." ..and they'd be right. Just sucks all the way around

The owner or the clerk? The clerk is who shot the kid and I'm not sure what happened to him legally.. but it seems that later down the line the owner fired him.

He probably could have and then claimed self defense but maybe the clerk didn't know if dude had a weapon on him. He could have also called the police as well.

What he shouldn't have done was opened the door though.

If you're gonna get into a physical altercation with someone, be prepared to take it all the way. If it isn't important enough to kill or be killed over, let it go.

The clerk didn't have to shoot him... but You can't go around throwing hooks at people's jaws for no reason.

Also, did this kid die? Shooting him in the leg or something would be but if he shot the kid to death, that's excessive force...
