Did this mother go too far defending her child

being a parent, a good parent doesn't necessarily mean resorting to criminal behavior in defense of one's child. Some parents would call the police if that happened to their child. This one decided to cut the other girl and now she's arrested. Might be looking at a felony. Some questions to consider. How long after the stun gun incident did the mother slash the other girl? Was it immediately after thereby defending her daughter? Or did some time pass and this was retaliation? If it's the latter, no wonder she got arrested.

Something else too, there might be good reason the girl had a stun gun on her and used it. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and if mama is capable of handing out buck fifties, her daughter is probably not a dainty princess either. We dont know the whole story, but be careful viewing this from the guise of mama bear simply protecting her cub.

But trust me when I tell you that your perspective changes when you birth a progeny.

Logic gives way to emotions that you, as a man, didn't know you had. I'm not a parent either, but I have nephews and I've had flashes of that paternal instinct where someone almost got fukked up over nothing.

After the fact I was at myself for almost flaying a woman for stepping on my nephew's foot, but that's how the biology of progeny works.

I feel sorry for the kid if he is... I'm a parent and there's no worse feeling than having harm inflicted on your child, I can't even process the thought. Things happen in seconds- no caring parent's initial reaction will be to sit there and construct a dissertation in their mind of an immediate harm to their child. That fight or flight reaction is a result of a parent-child bond. imagine not defending/protecting your child, as your responsibility. Not responding to an immediate threat on your child's health/safety and relying on the police to give an actual fuk.

He doesn't have a kid to protect so we can't expect him to understand or agree. We don't have to assume his character is flawed, lesser, or evil just because he has a different responsibility. The change that happens when a child enters ones life simply hasn't happened for him yet.

It's not a textbook decision that jail will be the outcome, there's more that factors into the situation. You don't know the story so stop with the judgmental assessment based on your own perceived stereotypes, profiling issues including the fact that you have no biological or emotional connection.
