Don't get all historical obscure on me.

I remember when Hard in the Paint dropped it was like an audible revolution, like this new sonic ignorance protruding thru my speakers killing my brain cells filling them with ignoreamus maximalis, a rare molecule formed at low 808'ish frequencies.

lol no. T.I. introduced "trap muzik" mainstream but it was still more in line with regular rap sounds, if that makes sense, then acts like Jeezy & Gucci redefined the sound through their tapes to what we currently identify as trap muzik. Also, TM:101is a pivotal point. When hard in the paint dropped we were already well into that type sound, its just it was a really hard/big song and a lot is attributed to it by affiliation.

So, Trap or Die started it?

TRAP OR DIE with production by SHAWTY REDD defined the TRAP SOUND

While T.I gave the movement ITS IDENTITY

even though acts like the HARD BOYZ and GHETTO MAFIA outta Decatur were the first to reference the TRAP long before T.I

Yep the identity and swag was popularized first by TI. Shawty Redd & Jeezy put the sound and feeling into Trap.

nikka...have you even listened to a T.I. album? Up until Paper Trail he was untouchable.

Tip back then and Tip now is like night and day. Lowkey he birthed a lot of nikkas.

It's easy breh. TI don't got the voice. Jeezy got the voice. Jeezy vocals alone make you feel like you got an AR15 strapped on your back. Add Shawty Redd shyt on top, you start to get extra delusional.

TI on other hand...I don't know breh. Will people get pissed if I say "terry cloth"?

I would say Lex Luger made it "region-less". Before Lex it was predominately something cultivated in the A. Either the producer or where the MC gained notoriety.

I think Flocka/Hard in the Paint in general is Trap at full bloom. The second generation's masterpiece. From there you had Juicy J, Rick Ross & Kanye West on trap beats from Lex.
