who turned on who because they dissed another artist? I'm lost.

the bolded is just talk breh. aint no real man gonna stop checkin for a rapper because he keeps getting locked up. if anything, it makes people check for them more. problem is, by that time T.I. was bordering on a whole different fanbase. he was catering towards chatty-patties by then. so yea, youre kinda right jim.

Posters are saying people look at T.I. differently because Shawty Lo exposed him. That's what I was referencing. It's a false statement, because people drew their own conclusions about T.I. based on their experiences with their system or based on their peers' experience with the system.

Getting locked up negatively affects an artist's career on several levels. For starters, their fans aren't going to get new music. In the event that they release new music, if it's not up to par to what the artist was doing prior to getting locked up, it potentially costs them fans. Such was the case with No Mercy. That album wasn't the album that T.I. was planning to drop. It didn't even have the title that he was going with at the time. All of the singles that he initially released became iTunes bonus tracks. No Mercy was him apologizing again.

Rappers going to jail also lose endorsements.

T.I. also lost fans that became fans because of him doing songs like "Live Ya Life" and "Whatever You Like". After he got locked up certain stations cut his verse from some of the Pop collaborations that he was doing.

1.) ok I see what youre saying in the 1st statement.

2.) TI never stopped releasing music when he went to jail breh. you can say it messed up his "no mercy" tracklist or whatever but he was already :flabbynsick: by then.

3.) rappers losing endorsements is not our concern.

4.) yea, I acknowledged the commercial audience when I mentioned the chatty-patty crowd. theyre the only ones that stopped messing with him BECAUSE he kept going to jail. theyre not hip-hop tho.

No Mercy was completely different. None of the music he was droppin' appeared on that album. "I'm Back", "Pledge Allegiance to The Swag", "Got Your Back", "Ya Hear Me", and the song for The Takers soundtrack became iTunes bonus songs. It wasn't even the same album title. T.I. was far from :flabbynsick: at that point. "I'm Back" was a big deal. He also dropped Trouble Man two years later, which was a dope album and that album did well. Paper Work is T.I.'s :flabbynsick: point because it's the first time in his career since his first album that he put out an album that pretty much failed on all fronts aside from the success of the first two singles. It's possibly his weakest album and everything about it is :flabbynsick:.

if you wanna be real about it, he was :flabbynsick: once he dropped "TI vs TIP" but those cheesy radio hit kept him afloat for a few years.

his main core audience(not counting his fanatics) had already moved on by the time paper trail and all that other bullchit was droppin.

T.I. vs. T.I.P. was the just the first real brick he caught during his run. It wasn't him being :flabbynsick:. With that album he attempted a concept album and failed. Instead of the album being an identity crisis, it became a marketing ploy that excused the commercial songs (the T.I. portion) vs. the street songs (the T.I.P. portion). What's funny is the more commercial songs from the album weren't even singles. Paper Trail was more of a balance and the commercial songs on Paper Trail were far better than those on T.I. vs. T.I.P. T.I.'s core audience was all he had left after No Mercy. That's who showed up for Trouble Man because there were no "cheesy" radio hits that were keeping him afloat. He took it back to his roots with that album.

when I say core audience, I'm not talking about his die-hard fans. I'm talking about the core southern trap audience.

I'm not gonna hold you. I never even heard "trouble man". I been stopped paying attention to the guy.

Tiny is top flight hann?
Wtf is top flight to you cats LOL, you think a chick on instagram is top flight because she got 1 million followers and she sleeps with the highest bidder.
The ambition is not to have the finest chick, its to have one that is just successful as you are bruh
