Why would Tom Ford need to pay Jay-Z for exposure to the masses? :what: It's not a brand intended for the common individual.

Not all marketing is intended to translate directly into sales. In fact for certain brands like mcdonalds, pepsi etc most commercials are about establishing and maintaining a presence and an image long term. Now a Tom Ford image has no realistic avenue of selling product to the average Jay-Z fan, however a brand like Tom Ford might benefit from being the known brand that average people want but cannot afford. Is this the case here? dont know... but just saying marketing is about a lot more than just converting a 'possible lead' into a 'aquired customer'

Speaking of Tom Ford. I just heard that Tom Ford's "Tuscan Leather" smells like cocaine.

"Tom Ford’s perfume line has, from the beginning, taken the low road with its high notes. Or maybe, when he launched the line last spring, he just figured out how to make cologne funny and a bit skanky (sexy?), declaring that he wanted to make one of his twelve unisex scents “smell like a man’s crotch.” But does his scent Tuscan Leather actually smell like cocaine? Well, according to cognoscenti of that drug, yes, a bit. “That’s what everyone says,” admits a counterboy at the Ford store on Madison, who adds that one customer even bought a bottle because he thought it smelled like coke. Tuscan Leather goes for $165 for a 50-ml. bottle, about 49 grams, which is way cheaper than the real stuff from Bolivia. What’s the appeal of smelling like you might be clenching your jaw? Ford was traveling in some far-off land without cell-phone reception and could not be reached, his spokeswoman said. Katherine Holmes, a spokesperson for Private Blend, Ford’s fragrance line, says Tuscan Leather is “an original take on a classic leather scent. Saffron, raspberry, and thyme, open to olibanum and night-blooming jasmine,” while “leather, black suede, and amber wood add an intricate richness.” So, no blow anywhere in there? “No.”

Might Hov have actually been saying that he doesn't "pop Molly he rocks cocaine?"

Hublot pays him after they saw the impact of a song mention. We now have Shawn Carter by Hublot . Jigga is so far advanced. He is constantly redefining the rules of the game and finding new ways of raising revenues for this dying industry.

This what I think, even if he didnt get paid it was to setup a deal with them

WOW these high end colognes are really taking things to another level... why bother smelling like success, power and confidence when you can smell like coke! although for the life of me, from what i vaguely remember from hanging with some disreputable friends 20 years ago, i dont know why anyone would want to smell like this...

I haven't smelled his Tuscan Leather cologne, but I do own his Tobacco cologne and I won't lie. I smell like I'm worth a lot of money when wearing it.

Question: Do you actually pay $200 bucks for the 50 mL ? I might get a bootleg smell alike or something...
Yeah my lady dropped the bread on that and Creed Santal for my b day earlier this year.
