My man from Bk and always felt it was weird, but they co-exist and don't really be disrespected as long as they stay in they lane. Hence the 'no homo,' to reinforce those boundaries. I personally believe its due to the proximity to the art world, fashion, and all that downtown shyt. I know, I was there.
