Its

...not like granny was 70+ years old.
Her or someone else in the fam couldn't step up???

this whole culture of having a kid when you not atleast stable financially is
But not being stable mentally(on hard drugs)
Seem like all this coulda been avoided, she was just a baby
You'd be surprised how difficult it is for family to obtain custody. Its the sole reason im not a state caseworker. Long story short. A kid was in the system, abused by a relative who still lived in the house. Because the suspect (the abuser) was a minor, in the state they live in, he (the abuser who is a minor) is a victim. So the kid he abused had placement in another state and as a part of me seeing if I was cut out for the job, i had to take on this case. The kid grandparents were more than willing to take him, had the financial means all of that. but since the parents still had custody and cps didnt remove the child or press any charges, parental privileges cant just be given to whom the state or even parents deem fit. long story short the kid who was abused was in a placement for 3 months, went back home where he was abused and the relative who abused him was still in the house, the parents arent shyt and the kid didnt go to school when he went back home. he ended up having some other issues and was placed into another placement.
i wrapped the case up and was offered the full time position and said fukk no.
Sounds like she was killed, and someone left a note. I cant believe a 6 yr old has enough awareness to be thinking suicide. Most kids barely understand death at that age
I didnt know what suicide was when i was 5. nor did i know how to tie a knot. shyt i probably couldnt tie my shoelaces.
I missed this thread. Its horrible I don't even understand how a 6 year old could think to kill themselves. I have observed guilt a child can have and low self esteem do to parents abusing them even that young. They think things like not want to be "here", but the actually thought of suicide? That is so crazy.
Kids are over exposed. The innocence that protects them because they don't think things through or comprehend everything is being lost. They are exposed to way too much, too fast not mentally equip to handle or make rational decisions based on what they see. This is just so sad. Her little life...
ya'll are thinking from a different perspective. if you were 5 and raised in a good and healthy environment of course you wouldnt be aware of all the negative things. part of growing up with safety and security is having that veil over your eyes. if you were exposed to neglect, abuse and poverty at a young age thats the perspective you'd see.
Like i said, they understand death in that they wont be there anymore. they understand they can do things to die. they cant process or think about how it affects others, and lethal ways of doing it. They dont understand that often times if they hang themselves, attempt to drown themselves in a tub, or overdose they are just going to severely hurt themselves if not permanently hurt themselves rather than die because someone will find them and help them. they can only think, if i do this then i'll be dead.
