Read a couple days ago about one of only 2 survivors who 'surfed' their way down..dude was on the 22nd floor and sat between 2 thick concrete walls by the stairwell and went down with the rubble but only sustained a broken leg..

the stairwells were the only part of the towers built for strength. Since they were so huge and were built on an island, the engineers had to make them mostly air so they wouldn't sink over the years. Except the stairwells. Couldn't skimp on their strength.

I remember HBO had a documentary the year after 9/11 and they had footage of people jumping and had popping sound of people hitting the ground. They definitely were hitting like watermelons

Watched the new Spike Lee doc on HBO. So many people jumped that we didn’t see from the videos back then. A lot of them landed in the same general area. A witness talks about running from the building and seeing all the remains of the people that jumped.
