I had a hard time comprehending how someone could come to that decision to jump, but in case it provides any of y’all solace, they may not consciously have made that choice

what I mean is, the human body is predisposed to react to certain things and avoid certain dangers. For example, when you touch a hot stove, your hand automatically moves away you don’t have to tell it to. So some scientists theorize that those people in the towers, it was so hot and there was so little oxygen, there bodies “jumped” without really thinking about it because our body’s first instinct is to get oxygen and get away from the heat that was in those buildings.

That is fukking crazy when you think about it. There's no way I can hold my hand on a hot iron and just keep it there. I could now see my self being forced out a window without realizing. The smoke alone is hot, not even mentioning the flames. shyt that is crazy. I know my body would of jumped out that window

honest question cuz i live alone, did you have trouble going to sleep after watching it. I have bad sleep paralysis and cant even sleep in the dark cuz my sleep paralysis will act up. I sometimes cant go to sleep even though im tired as hell. I have to wait until weds. to sleep during the day.

It's the lack of oxygen more than anything else. Fear of suffocation, drowning, smoke inhalation, anything that obstructs your ability to breathe will make you do ANYTHING for oxygen.

This is why you are supposed to secure the oxygen mask on yourself before assisting others in the event of a loss of cabin pressure. This is why you can't rescue a person who is drowning without a flotation device. This is why water-boarding is an effective method of torture.

No one who jumped (in truth, most people simply fell from the open windows) had any concept of the consequences of falling. They wanted oxygen.

The fires lasted for an entire hour. People were standing on desks because the floors had become unbearably hot. The ceilings and floors were buckling on each floor. The building was creaking and groaning and listing.

Anyone who fell from the towers stayed until they were beyond making a conscious decision. It was a reflex.
