I didn't know about this movie, props to threadstarter

Watched it last night. Pretty sad. The first half was awesome, the last 25 minutes dragged a bit and the ending was just corny.

But still, dope film

anybody who grew up on the east coast during that late 90s-early 2000s era has seen this movie before with the same characters and plot. lenny came across like that nice nikka in the park or gym living of his rep when he didnt really play organized ball like that. those nikkas with the jordan gear...backpacks...wristbands...socks with sandals...talking about the league when they dont even put in work on their AAU or HS squad. a lotta nikkas who are serious about making it to the league dont talk that dumb "how many points u dropped" shyt like lenny was doing the whole movie. u literally dont got time for that extra shyt. ur more focused on making sure u doing what u gotta to do to stay ahead. a lotta ppl think making it to the league is easy but once u get to a certain level everybody is nice. now it becomes who is more focused.....who wants it more. this movie made me respect bron even more. even when he was a lil nikka he was focused. cooke talking all that nonsense and u could see bron is just focused on doing what he gotta do to make it. same shyt with melo. cooke talking about foxy's brother and melo looking at him like "ok i got it nikka" and kept it moving. then 10 years later melo at the Garden shows this nikka cooke why hard work pays off without having to say a fukkin word
