Holyfield never beat Lewis. Got lucky with a draw the first fight and lost clearly in the 2nd.

I thought you knew your boxing bro

He lost the second fight, but it was nowhere near as clear as that draw in the first fight. If I remember right, he nearly dropped Lewis a few times in that second fight. I agree though...that first fight should not have been a draw. Either way, Lewis handled Tyson. Holyfield gave him problems.

Name them.
Holyfield took out Pinklon Thomas with none of the issues with the jab that Tyson had.
Holyfield took out Tillis, who Tyson couldn't.
Holyfield knockout Buster Douglas, who KO'd Tyson
Holyfield got a win against Lennox, Tyson was KO'd.
Holyfield beat Riddikk.
Holyfield wasn't scared to fight Foreman and won.
Holyfield has actual wins against contemporary ATG and HoFers, Tyson has none.

Stop with the Tyson BS

:russ::russ::russ:

STOP!!

Weak ass Evander let a FLABBY AND SICK Larry Holmes take him through all 12 rounds.

Prime Tyson Embarrassed Larry and put him away in the 4th round!!

same thing with Alex Stewart, Took Evander through all 12 rounds and gave him trouble.

Meanwhile Tyson took out Stewart in the FIRST ROUND!

Holyfield was not IN ANY WAY seeing a LATE 80's/EARLY 90's PRIME TYSON.

I Respect Holyfields heart and skill...but he had to Juice up to hang with the big boys:yeshrug:

* Also Holyfield never beat Lewis.:stopitslime:
:camby:

Tyson didn't wash bigger fighters who weren't afraid of him.

How does anybody with EYES hate on PRIME Tyson??

probably the greatest Boxing specimen we have ever seen :wow:

Holyfield chin was to fukking strong and his intense aggressiveness towards Mike had like:ohhh: this isn't Trevor Berbick
yep thATS why king was raising hell..with the bowe holyfield fight..he wanted holyfield to fight his fighter...with hopes of trevor winning..to give mike the cake walk..

evander eventually sued king for the fukkery

No it was a good fight and Evander wasnt going down ... it wasnt a lopsided fight at all to me at least
Mike clearly vents his frustration with the clinching and throwing his head down into tyson ... more than once
Mike was saying "Lets fukking fight" blah blah ... so when he kept clinching he fukking bit him
as well as saying "Fight me like a fukking man" It is what it is ... a high strategy fight where they were both on the verge of each gameplay working
and mike said "fukk that brawl with me, coward" You let them box box and Evander wins by decision ... you let them brawl through the bite and tyson wins :yeshrug: I understand both angles of the fight

You’re right....it was known that Holyfield’s head movement led to head butts. You know this in training. You see it when you watch film. You knew it from the first fight. Your defense for that is to bite a guy’s ear off?? To try and break the guy’s arm on a clinch?? Nah, man. I like Mike...particularly the guy he is now...but he ran into a guy that wasn’t scared, couldn’t seem to hurt, and that pushed him all over the ring. He got frustrated and acted like a hood nikka instead of a boxer. If that fight continued, Holyfield may have lost his composure and did something to leave himself vulnerable to get popped. But if that bite hadn’t happened, I felt he’d clearly win a decision if not get another TKO.

I agree with everything you said, Holyfield had Mike's number.

Where I get kinda peeved is when boxing fans make it seem like it's some sort of travesty for Tyson to lose to Holyfield. Holyfield is one of the greatest of all time, should be no shame in losing to him.

With that being said, I felt Holyfield was juiced to the gills for every big heavyweight fight he participated in.

Beating a Tyson who spents 3 years rusting away in prison is not the same as beating a 1987 Tyson. Tyson's style is such that it requires a lot of stamina, and youth. Since he's so short (relatively speaking) it's not a great style to fight into your 30s with.

He felt he was getting headbutted. Then he went Brownsville.

If there were a metal pipe laying around, I think Mike would have beaten Holyfield with it, that's how street Mike went.

When he pushed Evander in the back, I knew street Mike had arrived. :russ:

Probably a lot of truth in that statement. He was basically a blown up Cruiserweight, and of course, got caught receiving 'roids at his crib. Steroids don't give you a strong chin and boxing skills, but I'm sure the strength helped him a lot. Nevertheless, Holyfield is one of the greatest all time and I'm one of the few that feel like he would've beaten Mike before the prison sentence.

Mike got frustrated because for two fights Holyfield kept head butting him coming inside and Mills Lane wasn't doing shyt about it...

He suiffered a nasty cut in the second fight from a headbutt right before he bit Holyfield...

I think it was a combination of different things. Being cut in both fights from headbutts, Holyfield winning the first fight and physically handling Tyson in the first 2 rounds of the rematch (he also took Tyson's shots well in the 3rd round, which Tyson was clearly winning), etc...Some think the bites were Tyson's way of quitting. I don't know, maybe, but he did try to unconvincingly tells Mills Lane "it was a punch" after the first bite. :mjlol:

Other guys had tried to fight Tyson dirty before that, and usually he just responded by giving them a beatdown, and sometimes responding to the fouls with other fouls (Frank Bruno hit Tyson with a ton of rabbit punches in the first fight). If Tyson was winning, I don't think he would have bit Holyfield, but if he didn't feel he was being fouled, I don't know if he would have responded like that. He didn't do that when he lost to Douglas, Lewis, Williams, or the first Holyfield fight.

I don't think he was thinking all that much about the bites during the moments he bit him.

In his last fight, he did bite Kevin McBride in the chest. He said "hey, I was desperate" :yeshrug:

Most fighters have their share of "sneaky tricks", and Holyfield was a master of the "deliberate accidental headbutt". Later on he gave Hasim Rahman a second forehead with it, and it seemed that Riddikk Bowe's cut in the 2nd fight (the Fanman paraglider one) came from a clash of heads. Tyson always had his share of these as well. He loved hitting guys after the bell, when they were down, and would throw a forearm/elbow when he didn't like the way he was clinched. Spinks stood upright for about 60 seconds and Tyson still managed to throw an elbow to his face.

By now, I'm used to seeing boxers be "crafty" and "sneaky" in the ring (i.e. dirty)
