So, here’s the deal. In 2006’s Batwoman reboot, Kate Kane was reintroduced as a Jewish, lesbian cousin of Batman. Her father, Jacob Kane, is Jewish. Jacob Kane’s sister is Martha Wayne, née Martha Kane. While nobody has out loud said that Martha is Jewish, it’s a fair assumption that she is. And being Jewish, regardless of practice, is passed down matrilineally. Meaning if your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish. Ergo, Bruce Wayne is Jewish.

So decades after Bill Finger and Bob Kane are dead, and 60+ years after his creation they tryna slip in he's jewish? Naw.

I'm filing this next to that "Iceman is gay" travesty:camby:

Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Juana (née Córdova) and Colby Carter.[1][5] Her father is of English and Irish ancestry, and her mother, whose family hailed from Mexico, is of Mexican, Spanish, and French descent.[6][7] She has one brother, Vincent, and one sister, Pamela.

Got no problem with Batman being Ethnically Jewish, but not a practicing Jew (as another poster mentioed it would kind of conflict with the Waynes being the prototypical WASP family of Gotham). Especially with Bob Kane and Bill finger having been Jewish men.

By and large religion doesn’t matter much for superheroes in my opinion . There are a few exceptions, however, . Superman in my opinion should be canonically raised christian to go with his midwestern roots. Daredevil also kind of has to be a devout Catholic.

Both were Jewish people.

Wait until it hits that the Justice League is essentially fantasy wish fulfillment: "super powers" going about and beating the crap out of randomly-declared enemies, who broke some always-shifting moral code...as dictated on the fly by...? Add in the historic situation(s) of the day, anywhere along the last century, across comics/radio/tv/movies, and the allegory is even more plain.

Unceasing.
