Did you know that it costs 5 thousand dollars for a one way plane ticket to China from LAX?

Based on time of year, yes....
If you go during slow seasons (SEP-OCT, JAN-FEB) its much less

All based on demand
Relative to what?

I don’t realistically see someone making 100k a year having the savings to go on multiple trips to China. That’s tens of thousands of dollars just in airline fees alone.

This isn’t normal at all. Did some research and before the pandemic fights were stable between 1k-1500 MAX

It can’t be.

Literally cannot be that expensive in standard class.

First I can understand, not even business class.

Well, most folks travel internationally during the summer months. Vacations get booked/kids out of school and can take multi-week trips.
Those making 100K a year are smart enough or should be smart enough to book their trips months in advance or even a year in advance as opposed to a month or two before.

If you looking at prices for the next couple months, then yeah its going to be high as shyt. Somebody looking to book a trip to China at the last minute is going to desperately need it and will pay that much, so thats the demand price.

I just looked at prices for FEB, and Im seeing average of 600-700 each way. Much less than 5K

And yes, the pandemic does factor in. International travel is at peak demand right now. Some folks aint been home to visit family in 2+ years...

Ehh that can't be right, even a non-stop trip shouldn't cost that much

YYZ (Toronto) to NRT (Tokyo) is only $1372 USD economy

Seems like price gouging and from what I’ve seen ticket scalpers are buying international tickets up. Airlines know this shyt so they price gouge. That’s the real “demand”

Summer is the woat for travelling, because airlines jack up prices because they know people with kids this is when they can.

Example I go to london like 3-4 times a year. I usually pay like 450-600 (max) round trip non stop from toronto to london uk

in the summer that same ticket is like 1,500
