Most people buy Apple for the user experience. I think they weren't interested in big phones because there were no big phones that offered the iOS experience.

It was opportunity cost. You could get a big phone or an iPhone. Now you can get both.

If Blackberry came out with a 7 inch phone I bet you would say it's too big.
