I'm using hustler as vernacular...you can't seriously belittle that term when Jay and Fifty have built brands and are successful businessmen.
I'm not knocking what he does here btw.....just in comparison to his counterparts he just doesn't stack up success wise. which is okay too....acquiring wealth at the expense of his art/fans might not be his focus. The opportunity has been there for 20 odd years though
So if he's not as wealthy as Jay/Fif/Diddy/Dre then that's more down to his ambitions. They just don't seem to lie in stacking as much money as possible.
He has stayed known and relevant through talent not business acumen. This has already been evidenced by his absence from Forbes and that hefty IRS tax lien.
Anyway back to Diddys insightful advice :deseanha:
What's their to belittle? lol Its such a overinflated term to simplfy how branding works.
Keep in mind, him getting a tax lien is no different than the fact many celebs in the past 5 years are getting tax liens and thats down to just the IRS finding and backchecking on things that artist consider tax write offs previously (hence why the IRS has been in the news and under fire the past 2 years).. Either way, it appears to have been 3 years since any reported problems.
With Forbes, that list is built on what the rappers themselves submit as their networth so you can be rich make a ton of dough and not appear. I would mention though in both 2013 and 2014 Forbes said Nas was just outside their top 15 both years. Either way, it silly to say he has no business acumen when the last 2 years say differently. But again, the fact he
branded himself as an artist is why you dont think of him as businessmen either, but thats still a business move
Like I said being known comes down to business acumen and talent as well. This is not G Rap floating in and out, the fact Emagen has marketed him well this late in his career means he knows about business.
