i mean kendrick is better then biggie in every way

because he has more albums more more to say more diverse flows etc.

but that's not saying much being that biggie only had two albums.

I can't put much too much stock into that list, but If I did look how fast Kendrick reached number 9.

Plus if you want to take it there.

Grammys though I don't give a damn about them, they have alot more history than that Billboard list, that looks like a desperate Hail Mary move:mjlol:.. Kendrick has 11,Jay-Z has 21,Michael Jackson has 19 just for reference. Jay has been around 20 years,Kendrick for about 6,you do the math. He will more than likely be the most critically acclaimed rap artist of all time. And you guys can shyt on the awards, and publications giving him the acclaim, but you put an awful lot of stock in it those awards, and what those publications say when its your favorite rapper. The way you just whipped out that Billboard list,I know for a fact you would love to tout 11 Grammys for Biggie:umad:

you really comparing the grammys to billboard ???

I don't knock his right to express himself however he sees fit.I just think he's absolutely safe.

I'm not saying I expect the nicca to be some kind of great leader.I don't.All I'm saying is his music feels watered down.

It doesn't appeal to me....But that's just me.One random nicca on the internet.Kendrick will be alright.

This is what you said about his music "They love that PBS after school program "consciousness"...Packaged nice & glossy"

What are some examples of conscience hiphop that you love, similar to Kendricks work in content, that you feel are hard hitting and the opposite of Kendricks?

Yes:what:? ask any artist how many Grammys,or even nominations they would give back to be put on that list:mjlol:. Kendrick has 11,Jay has 21,Neither would give not even one back to be number 1 on that Billboard list, that is surely written by cacs.

IMMIGRANT TETHERS
Big Poppa-Corny,Hypnotize-Corny,Juicy-Classic with help of sample,Biggie One More Chance-Classic,Mo Money Mo Problems-A Puffy Song.

Kendrick has "bytch Don't Kill My Vibe"-Classic,Alright-classic,L.O.V.E-classic,Swimming Pools-classic

I see where Puffy is going with this,I think Biggie is the much better all around emcee. Kendrick has proven to be the better artist and technical lyricist, with much more substance, and deeper content. Kendrick is beyond Biggie in terms of levels of importance and impact on the culture. The man is changing lives and creating a positive influence,Biggie didn't create life changing music,at least nothing positive, and probably nothing demonic even.

:mjlol:

who has Kendrick influenced?

what rappers are trying to steal Kendricks flow?

Biggie birthed alot of rappers style

and what the hell is technical lyricist? If there's one thing Kendrick is not, it's technical.

Nah, the bars ain’t there yet.

You can be the shyt, flash the fattest five
Have the biggest dikk, but when your shell get hit
You ain't worth spit, just a memory
Remember he, used to push the champagne Range (I remember that)
Silly cat, wore suede in the rain
Swear he put the G in game, had the Gucci frame
before Dana Dane, thought he ran with Kane
I can't recall his name, wasn't he that kid
that nearly lost half his brain over two grams of cocaine?
Getting his dikk sucked by crackhead Lorraine
A fukking shame, dude's the lame, what's his name?
Darkskin Jermaine, see what I mean?

Biggie is better than Kendrick at everything.

Kendrick could barely keep up with a past his prime Jay z.

I love Kendrick's music. I disagree about past prime Jay-z because I felt he wasn't really spitting and he was jacking flows then but.....

Biggie is better than Kendrick at everything, literally everything about MCing. There is no way his spot could ever be knocked off by anyone. Especially not someone who isn't from New York. I never understood comparing people directly from two different areas directly. Must have been the east / west media bullshyt. Life is much different in LA than it is New York. The 90s were much different than the 2010s.

Diddy lives in LA now full time. It seems as if he understands what Kendrick means to LA, similar to what Biggie meant to NYC.

This stuff is all subjective. I think the younger dudes like Kendrick because he's a cornball. I don't even mean the pejoratively it just is what it is. He's a hood nerd who gang affiliated dudes on the West Coast cape for because he's all they have left. He gets a lot of respect for talking about a lot of facets of current social/political issues but he doesn't do it in a way nearly as powerful as Ice Cube used to do, for example.

Yes, Biggie had one flow and his subject matter was basically street life/getting money/women. But I think that had a lot to do with the time period--he came up in the NYC crack epidemic. For you younger dudes who don't know what that era was like it didn't leave a lot of room for being "alternative." I might be a dinosaur in my tastes but Biggie speaks more to where/how I came up and the struggle. And I don't think that stuff has changed all that much in our community since '97. Kendrick Lamar is a better popstar but Biggie will always be the hood's favorite emcee (or one of them) in my opinion.

You gullible enough to believe that bullshyt?:jbhmm:The masses are asses...Always have been...Especially so nowadays.

If you think Pac is boring/have no classics, I seriously have to question your capacity(not you, people in general).

More than likely, Pac's going over your head......Just Dear Mama & Keep Ya Head up alone will outlive most of these present day rap niccaz

whole catalogs....combined.This the microwave era."Substance" can only be found on the exterior of an artsy fartsy concept.

The music is fleeting.Faint, paper thin, and hollow as fukk.Your songs just have to be seemingly deep nowadays.People have been dumbed down.

Barren dry landscapes in this desert called Hip Hop.Droughts & famines all around. These thirsty fukks will draw a few drops of water out of a rock

and call it the best shyt ever!!Even have the nerve to diss previous era's when the land was flowing with milk & honey. They're pillars of salt.

This nicca just went BIBLICAL on muffuccas. lol

Edit: but yeah, it just has to seem deep.

There's this young dude at my job who was trying to tell me how Kendrick was deep when TPAB was hittin'. He was tellin' me about "How Much A Dollar Cost?" and I got to cracking up in his face...

Swimming Pools, Alright, Humble, Love, Loyalty, etc. The longevity of contemporary music has less to do with it being "classic" and more to do with old people always loving the music they listened to when they were 10yo-20yo. Same reason Drake has more "classics" than anyone, and we'll be hearing them nonstop for 20+ years as people our age rock out. Same with Kanye.

People are still playing Nelly songs today breh. Old school hip hop radio stations are slowly becoming a thing, and I'm sure old school streaming playlists will continue gaining steam too. And it's gonna be a lot of Lil Wayne, Young Thug, etc whether purists like it or not lol.

You are someone who gets it.

This is why someone like Drake will end up being more of a "legend" of our generation than Bruno Mars. People gotta stop acting as if talent makes yourself a shoe in as a legend. There are artists out there who are not even close to being the most talented who will end up with more classic music because like you said we will be listening to them years down the line.

If talent automatically meant a classic, Janelle Monae would be full of them
