Think about it, LeBron is the only GOAT candidate who hasn't played for a hall of fame coach.

This leaves his two options: San Antonio or Boston. I know Stevens isn't there yet but he's on his way... especially with a few 'ships.

LeBron is looking at this the wrong way. He needs to go somewhere where he can trust the coach's direction. That way he can spend less time being LeCoach and focus on his game. Even hard-headed ass Kobe knew he fared best under Phil.

Wouldn't it be dope to see how a great coach utilizes LeBron's skills?

We dont know about this yet. Miami had a good coach as you can see they made playoffs this year with a bunch of nobodies and they still have Chris Bosh salary on the books..

What will be his excuse if he doesn't win with San Antonio? He needs someone to blame.

How many Finals did Spo go to before LeBron went to Miami, how many Finals has he gone to after LeBron left? Half the teams make the playoffs so that isn't saying much that Miami went to the playoffs this year.

I agree off the thread title alone

Second point

Like Kobe said: he needs to learn to do LESS.

AND check his ego. He’s not the GM. He’s not the coach.

Stop saying you’re not those roles.. act like you’re not those roles.

Focus on being a leader and a player and growing as a leader.

I agree: he needs a real coach, Phil Jackson would’ve won min 2 games vs the Dubs with this squad.

Which is why he should now. He's only getting older.

lebron wants to create a narrative of him having to be the coach and best player on a team of rag tags so he gets all the credit when he wins and his teammates are blamed when he loses. Going to the spurs lebron will have the ball alot less, his numbers will drop, and the expectations are through the roof. Lebron is at his best without pressure.

Nah these guys playing in a system would make K love better because he would play that (gasol) role top of the key in the triangle and he's a good passer and better shooter than gasol.

Those role players would actually know their role within the triangle and lebron wouldn't have the ball all game, it would move , moving the defense and giving guys more open looks.

I wouldn't mind seeing him play for Rick Carlisle.

LeBron’s never played in a real system, maybe he played more off the ball under Spoel (an actual NBA coach) but in Cle he did what he wanted.

Saying this to say I don’t doubt he has the highest bball IQ in the NBA, but he has a lower TEAM basketball IQ than most 6POY candidates.

Do you see him successfully being disciplined in a system?

Defense would be Cleveland's problem...

They dont have any remote answer for 2/3 of Golden State's perimeter threat

Lebron is smart enough to play in any system, but the problem again is lebron doesn't want to. He wants to continue to put up near triple doubles and make his stats look godly. That's his intro in the goat conversation. He's going to have higher totals in MJ in every category, points, rebounds, assist, blocks, steals etc.. So someone without watching them play will say "but lebron's totals blow MJ's out the water"

Can you imagine if lebron went to the spurs and only averaged 23-6-7 on 50% and 35% from 3. People would say what's wrong with lebron, and don't let them win a championship with him putting up those numbers and people would say he's a sidekick. Lebron would rather lose (see the 2011 finals) than win with someone else getting the lions share of the credit
