digital art- how can i learn to make infographics??

basically i want to learn to make stuff like this
maybe a bit simpler and more cartoonish
but you get the idea

all i've got right now is photoshop cs2

obviously this will take time but can anyone suggest how i approach this??
is there a free online class or something??
don't need any formal credentials, this is just a side project

i think you make them with illustrator though and not necessarily photoshop
