I've been thinking lately about putting my digital art skills to practice by making fun portraits of people. There's a strong hype for the new tumblr ghetto fab aesthetic, along many other styles such as 'grime', vaporwave, kawaii, etc.
Say my idea was redrawing regular selfies in a particular style/manner that the client wanted me to. Say I charged 25$ for it. I'd be making around 6.25$ an hour because I'm really slow, but hey, at least it's better than not getting paid at all.
What means should I use to advertise myself besides Instagram and Tumblr?
Mind you this is a side hustle, so even if I get 1 person a year, that's still money I guess.

Improve your skills and make your money!!! See how you can incorporate it unto other stuff , Nails, clothes , accessories, cellphone cases. I am trying to find another hustle. I never want to have one source if income.
Edit: I am taking photography classes this summer and hooking up with an acquaintance who does photography. I can't wait to learn.
Let me know when you set up show girl I will buy from you.

Good luck on your photography quest, it seems fun. But you do know that you can learn most online, right? Go on tons of photogrpahy forums, read a lot, youtube also has great channels geared toward photography. Unless you really need that certificate, which is probably the case for all professionals. :/ But don't BUY photoshop. I'll help you out with getting photoshop if you want

well if it gets you paid have at it i guess? everyone and their mom has photoshop nowadays though....i dont care im not judging man whatever puts food on your plate. its probably going to be a struggle though. i bet that market is saturated as fukk

why did you choose to re-create her image with a gun ?
There are a lot of great artists you should look up and great asian artist do amazing illustrations and paintings and they use their imagination very creative and wonderful images. If you wanna go far you shouldnt really be duplicating images because people have cameras and etc the technique is impressive but the image end result is not alluring or something that would even attract attention.
Going back to your violent image i would suggest you curb it or at least be creative. people dont want negative images of black people especially especially in something as lovely as art. study the greats let your creativity blossom. check coli art threads i have made a couple.
