Every time I try to understand the sanders situation, I get even more confused cause nobody makes sense.
Like i said a couple things can be true at once. He could be “overrated” by the internet, AND have gotten some unfair treatment in the NFL so far.

There are a few things. The coaches do prefer Gabriel and also they made it seem like this was an open competition which gave everyone the impression that Shedeur had a shot of being the starter. That’s what triggered all of this. Had they been transparent from the beginning and just say that Flacco is the starter and everyone else is competing for the backup job then things wouldn’t have gotten to this point.

Some people have more energy for Shadeurs depth chart position than they had for any of the Kap stuff. He actually got blackballed (then started begging for a job again).
There are too many black QBs starting in the league for this to be purely racial.
There are too many black players that had an arrest record before going in the first round for this to be just about behavior.
Shadeur is that rare place that only kids of rich people seem to occupy where their talent does not align with their production possibilities and definitely doesnt align with how they talk, but they still get opportunities.
Shadeur does not have the makings of a starter for ANY NFL team right now and he'd be fighting for (and probably lose) the QB2 slot on most of them. He played in a system that has been curated for him by his father since he was in Jr. High School. He didnt go to the combine and nothing about his tape or talent aligned with his "dont draft me unless you want to change the culture" rhetoric. And it was coming from a young man that had never taken an NFL snap, been part of a legit NFL mini camp, or been in an NFL locker room in any meaningful way. How are you going to change the culture? You dont know what they culture is and you haven't done shxt. There is a very strong chance he bombed team interviews based on his how he answered press questions and threw teammates under the bus last season.
