As for the flat earth, that is far behind me I don't even contemplate about it anymore. It's boring. I've already told u the exact reasons on the Coriolis effect being false. U watch a video but don't do the work. 1 out of the hundreds of proofs that we live on a still flat plane. But what proofs do you come with? Weak, easily disproven claims that can not even fill up a list of 5... If that. I don't like cgi breh but maybe you do.

And if you're not sure about our still, level, horizontal earth? Then what's one thing you can be sure about? What's one thing that we couldn't debate no matter how hard we tried.

It's a combination of ignorance, cognitive dissonance, and yes, sadly conspiracy.

For #1, they genuinely put 100% trust without actual research. They don't even want to entertain the idea. I'm sure your familiar how some react... an example above was were someone just posted laughing smileys.

For #2, they know or have a inkling of doubts in some discovery about it but it destroys what there belief is so they try to rationalize and distance away from it. Peer pressure-like... They don't want to be ridiculed.

For 3#, they have an agenda/ulterior motive where a lot of money is being funded to these scientists, to essentially lie. This carries over into space programs as well. But there also must be another element other than money as incentive (contracts or even occult threats) for information not to leak.
