Yes motherfukker. In the north east, New York in particular, bagels are a popular breakfast staple. In the late 19th-early 20th century, Polish Jews brought them over and many bagel shops opened up throughout the growing city. It became lucrative for these shop owners and the shape/dimensions of a bagel (like donuts) made it easy to transport and eat on the go during the commute.
