No one was hyping Drummond at that time. There was a reason he fell all the day down to 9. All you guys are doing is second guessing after the fact which is easy to do two years later.

Drummond was supposed to go everywhere from 2-10 even then they were saying teams would regret passing on him...A dude like waiters wasn't even mocked in the top 10...3 years in a row (Thompson, waiters, bennett) I had the same wtf reaction...they never took the player people thought they would or should.

The Harrison Barnes thing is true.

He was automatically linked to the Cavs because of the hole at SF and his relationship with Kyrie. Same thing happened with MKG.

People were also quick to say that Barnes was a better player than Waiters the majority of last year.

It was between barnes/Drummond...with most people thinking barnes because he was friends with kyrie...wonder what would of happend if we got beal instead....but there were also some who thought the CAvs would go with Drummond.

And I know some will disagree with this but I have a feeling barnes would look better as a starter on a team then as a reserve on GSW...
