Your point is valid but all of this is subjective and through the individuals lens. My my mom doesn’t think that Confessions or Vodoo are classics. Because that’s not her era. Those are classics to certain people that respects those artist relative to time and perspective.

You can’t guys are looney to hold up your beliefs of what’s classic yet dismiss an artist as big as Beyoncé when there are plenty people that feel her music is. Confessions and is not universally considered a classic outside of its genre

Mariah has numerous classics, Beyonce has maybe one as a solo artist. Beyonce has as many classic songs as B2K (and fewer than Tyrese!). It's embarrassing.

Beyonce and Mariah are both overrated bruh sex appeal & hit singles don't make you among the greatest especially when their albums are shytty, like I said Beyonce best album will be a "greatest hits" CD.

It's an aura thing. After the success of 8701, and then Confessions, Usher was the biggest male solo artist. Girls in school were carving lyrics from My Boo into their desks; those songs were on the radio constantly. Beyonce has been so much about marketing, not organically getting people to love her music and be obsessed by it. Frankly, I'd say Justin Timberlake's first few solo albums also had a bigger splash than Beyonce's solo work. I can sing Justified front to back. I can't name more than 3 songs on any Beyonce album.

Most artists have superior solos than their group work. She would have probably been an undisputed classic icon if she was never in that band.
