When we say black we mean socially not biologically.

There are many things that make up the black race socially and culturally. Our spirit, or strength, or rhythm, coolness, ect. Someone like Obama can identify himself as black because that's who he sees himself as culturally and socially. The same can be said about alot of mixed people who could pass for white and went that route.

If you want to be mixed fine but being mixed doesn't really mean anything. There is really no such thing as a mixed race and you cant be both black and white. Socially you can be one or you can be neither. People who pick the latter are usually pretty confused.
