Some of y'all nyggaz don't get it. Question: what does Barack Obama consider himself? What does society as a whole consider Barack Obama? Is he considered the 1st black president? When have u ever heard him deny his mother being black? When have u ever heard obama deny his maternal grandmother bein white? I'll wait 4 these questions 2 be answered!

So in theory if "society" considered Barack white tomorrow, would that make it true?

If he considered himself white, would that make it so?

Of course not.

That's why these "what society sees you as" arguments never work.

The guy is biracial, half and half right down the middle. What he looks like doesn't matter, nor does what society sees him as matters because it will not change what his genetics are.

That's exactly what it is. Mixed people in other parts of the world don't identify as black, but they do so in the US, because the American society follows the racist one drop rule. It makes perfect sense.

In Lousiana Barack would be considered "black" on his birth certificate. In Hawaii (his birth place) there is no such law.
