Nah but at least he always played at the elbow. Dirk was never soft and always bought it in the postseason when the going got tougher. As great as a 3 point shooter that he was Dirk never attempted more then 5 a game and that's way back when he was 24.

Just cause people gave him the label doesn't make it true. Dirk was getting 10 boards a night in his earlier days. Not to many soft players are getting 20 and 10 a night. Say he couldn't play defense to well and you would be correct but to say he was soft is a fallacy.

Dirk took advantage of his matchups in the post though during the playoffs especially. KD should study some of Dirk's best games to see how to exploit mismatches. To many times I see him having a guy 6'7 on him and because of his lack of bulk or just not wanting to he ends up taking a long jumper. Which is a good shot for him but at 7'0 tall he could get in the post and get an easy 12-15 foot look anytime he wants. Dirk is an excellent 3 point shooter but unlike these players today he wasn't jacking up 6 or 7 3's a game and he knew his bread and butter was in that post with that unblockable turnaround.

While I understand what you guys are saying about Durant and the post, it's hard to criticize someone who shoots over 50% from the field every season. Plus KD drives to the hole regularly so it's not like he only jacks up shots.
