I don't think people appreciate that 2 year run by the rockets enough, especially 1994.

Ewing, Starks and Oakley were all-star level players at that point in their careers with an emerging Anthony Mason...and Hakeem basically did it himself with timely shots by the supporting cast :wow:

I am old :wow:
Nah man, the knicks were one man show just like the rockets

That game when starks choked showed how "great" he really was. Feel sorry for Ewing having to carry that team all around.

When they signed Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell finally some legit help on offense Ewing was way past the prime.

1997 was really their only shot after that, but the bulls would have crushed them anyway.

Besides J Kidd, there is not a single HOF on that team. And kidd was like 103 years old that year.

Dirk was the only all star

The heat had two HOF in prime time. Probably 3 if bosh doesn't get injured. Although it being the NBA, he might still make it. And all 3 was all stars that year

We will never in life see that again with how these teams teaming up

Besides HOF and MVP candidate Dirk, HOF and 2010 All-Star Jason Kidd, borderline-HOF Shawn Marion, 2012 DPOY and All-NBA Tyson Chandler, and 20ppg scorer in the postseason Jason Terry they had no one!

We will never in life see that again with how these teams teaming up

You mean except in 2015 when Lebron as the only All-star on his squad swept the Hawks with four All-stars?

2014 when Tony Parker was the only All-star on his squad and nearly swept the Heat with three All-stars?

2011 when Boston had FOUR all-stars, yet would have been beat by the single All-star Bulls or Mavs if they had played?

Why is the number of All-Stars even a meaningful measure of anything?

Spurs and Lakers were more top-heavy than the Mavs in 2011 too...so why Lakers get swept and Spurs not even get to them?

This is an actual meaningful look at the matchup:

Point Guard: Advantage Mavs
Shooting Guard: Advantage Heat
Small Forward: Advantage Heat
Power Forward: Advantage Mavs
Center: Advantage Mavs
Bench: Advantage Mavs
Coach: Advantage Mavs

Like:

Jason Kidd (10x All-Star, 6x All-NBA, 9x All-Defense)
Shawn Marion (4x All-Star, 2x All-NBA)
Caron Butler (2x All-Star)
Peja Stojakovic (3x All-Star, 1x All-NBA)

...but you knew that...right?
Jason Kidd was 37 :comeon:
Shawn Marion was on his 4th team in 4 years :comeon:
Caron Butler played 29 games that year :comeon:
Peja Stojakovic played 25 games that year :comeon:

Sit the fukk down, and shut the fukk up forever my nikka :comeon:

Jason Kidd was 37 years old when they won the title :comeon:

And yet just one year before in 2010, Kidd was chosen for the West All-Star team over Tony Parker, finished 3rd in the NBA in threes and 4th in the NBA in assists.

Don't act like Kidd was washed. He was still the perfect team leader, the most experienced guy on the court and 10x better than anyone the Heat had at the PG.

Chandler was All-NBA and the Defensive Player of the Year the very next year.

Dirk was a top-5 MVP candidate.

Terry coming off 6th-Man of the Year and averaged damn near 20ppg against the Lakers/Thunder/Heat that year.

Marion, Peja, Stevenson, Barea all solid vets who knew exactly what to do on both ends of the court.

This nikka using All-Star games to make his point :comeon:

Role players performing in their roles well is not the same thing as having legit superstars on the roster :comeon:

Current narrative is that Wade wasn't in is prime during that run, he was physically broken down and a shell of his former self that could only muster flashes of greatness, but needed to be carried to the finals by Bron.

Not saying that's how it was, just that it's how Wade is talked about in retrospect by some :hubie:
Wade is only talked about like that 2012 and on
