Also one of the first flicks in the 90s going all tech. It was at the peak of the virtual reality craze if I remember right.
Yea.. I was watchin and actually impressed with how far along we were in just 1994....i didn't even get my first computer till '99.... Would have been clueless if I watched this as a kid back then....

This actually came out around the time sexual harassment was starting to become a public issue in the workplace (like 1st generation #metoo). If you go back and watch a lot of movies before this era there's some REAL suspect behavior going on between male bosses and women that would get a dude arrested today. 
The 90s had a lot of "what if" style flicks based on a simple premise, I liked this flick but in hindsight it was mad disrespectful to toss this out there when women in the workplace were still going through soem real shyt

Yeah, it was considered something of poor taste, according to I think Ebert's review, akin to a movie about a male false rape claim being made now, like a Gone Girl style. It's a decent workplace and classic 90's style thriller, when every corporate/legal/erotic thriller was being adapted, and many starred Douglas. And after the success of Jurassic Park, every Crichton work was being mined for potential mega blockbuster potential. Not all of them worked.
