2007 was a different team? What about 2005? The personnel was largely the same. The Heat probably would have won that series if Wade hadn't been injured.

Yes, the '07 Pistons were a lot different from the '04 team. No Ben Wallace to rebound or anchor the defense, most of the productive bench players were gone, and Larry Brown - the mastermind behind their '04 defense - was long gone.

The rule changes affected a lot of what they did on the defensive end in '05. Whether or not the Heat would've won the '05 ECF's is anybody's guess.

You're also losing track of the main point. Everybody diminishes the Eastern Conference from the 2000's forward when that conference had better perimeter defenders. That's why Kobe struggled against the Celtics in 2008. That's why Eastern conference games were so low-scoring. The fact that Lebron scored so much despite facing tougher perimeter defense is a testament to him. Whereas Kobe often played high scoring fast paced teams like the Suns and Kings.

No, I addressed your point. You said D-Wade and LeBron destroyed the same team Kobe had trouble with. I was correcting you in telling you it wasn't the same team. The only reason the 53-win '07 Pistons finished first in the East was because the conference was so horrible. Only two teams won 50 games in the East that year.

EC teams play at a slower pace because they typically can't score. Take a team like the Bulls for example: great defense, but horrible offense. And having a few good individual defenders does not indicate that a conference is full of great defensive teams.

And everybody knows the Eastern Conference has largely been a joke for nearly two decades, with the exception of a few seasons. The EC from 2013-2015, in particular, was historically awful.

Kobe had an okay series against the Celtics in '08. LeBron played horribly, especially over the first four games of that series, with a number of atrocious shooting performances. He did play well in Games 5 & 7.

Tim Duncan got to be the most disrespected legend in the game :mjcry:

Nobody ever brings his name up as one of the best

People love saying he's a product of the Spurs but the Spurs are product of Duncan

He still putting numbers up to this day

Its because he was/is boring to watch. No one went out of their way to watch him play.

Kobe on the other hand was an event. Best showman in nba history next to Jordan.

Basketball is entertainment for most people. So obviously those who entertain get more acclaim than those who don't.

Haha mavs and spurs are bitter rivals still to this day competing in the same division. He would dare not talk highly of duncan in the middle of the season, especially with Cuban being the owner. Lakers are on the outside. No threat to him anymore.

He's been saying this for years. And I've been posting about it.

Almost all of Kobe's peers have this level of respect for him. A few years back Wade said Kobe was the best player of his era while playing with LeBron. Last year Kyrie said Kobe was the best player CURRENTLY in the league before catching himself and also including LeBron.

Kobe simply gets a level of respect from his peers only matched by Jordan when he played.

To be fair, reporters are asking SPECIFICALLY about certain players. There's a good chance that if Duncan was retiring right now instead of Kobe, Dirk would have just said "Duncan is the best player I ever played against, and I played against Kobe and Shaq." :yeshrug:

Problem is Dirk has been saying this for years. There was a Bill Simmons interview a few years ago when he asked Dirk who the best player he ever faced was and Dirk said Kobe. Comment made Simmons fall out of his seat tryin to cop pleas.

He took a paycut to BUILD an elite team. If it wasn't for DeAndre pulling out at the last second, they would have had one of the best teams in the West. It ain't Dirk's fault that DeAndre's a bytch ass nikka.

D-Will
Matthews
Parsons
Dirk
DeAndre

And for your information if Duncan never took a paycut, the Spurs wouldn't have been able to sign LMA.
foh nikka Deandres a bum

Think Deandre Jordan can make your team a championship contender brehs :mjlol:
