Ok so the point was, and still is, the task isn't feasible at this point. You'd have to perform a genealogy report for each and every person, not just black, determine who has slave DNA (and by that i mean ancestors who are slaves) just to determine who is eligible to get reparations. That's not even considering who should pay reparations. I can tell you right now that my ancestors had nothing to do with slavery. Most of where my people came from wasn't part of the united states, but for two years, when slavery existed.

That's if you want to dole out an actual cash reward. There are, in my opinion, other methods, like free college tuition for example, that do a better job of making reparations.

Nothing is going to make right the ills of slavery, not saying it's not owed, but it's just not feasible to address in a manner that some want to.

it'll never happen, ever. When and if it does, it'll be the next civil war. Too many people too far removed, both victim and perpetrator. Too many mixed races children. It's a good idea from an altruistic standpoint and from a JUSTICE standpoint. The 40 acres and a mule should have been given. Sadly in most cases I'm willing to be the 40 acres and a mule would have just been stolen by former masters, etc. Can't plant seed if you can't afford it and bet your ass the various stores at the time were going to all but rape them of their property, not saying it's a reason to NOT give it, just saying it's a sad reality that would have likely taken place. take the african ethnic info with a little bit of a grain of salt, but it also links you to your cousins that you may not know about. the info on current day relatives is extremely solid. my mom had recently been told about her now deceased father having had his name changed as a child due to adoption. she learned what the original name was, then she took an ancestry dna test and it found a cousin she never knew existed who has that last name.
