Leadership at Walt Disney Studios has been pressing Hollywood creatives in recent months, multiple sources tell Variety, for movies that will bring young men back to the brand in a meaningful way. “Young men” is defined here by sources as ages 13-28, aka Gen Z.

First, duh. Every film studio is looking for better ways to convert young audiences into habitual moviegoers. Numerous studies show that Gen Z men in particular are a lonely, gaming-obsessed group who were hampered in their formative years by COVID-19 lockdowns — not the easiest segment to grasp. But what’s surprising producers, writers and other partners in the larger industry is that Disney has been calling for original concepts to lure the demo back to the movies.

This is the same Disney whose multibillion-dollar content engines, Marvel and Lucasfilm, have sated men of all ages over almost two decades since the company acquired them. The sources say Disney has been seeking new IP and pitches such as splashy global adventures and treasure hunts, as well as seasonal fare like films for the Halloween corridor. The calls come as the Star Wars machine struggles to produce any film project and the superhero genre sheds audiences by the minute.

Disney is launching a new screeming service with "new Star Wars and Marvel series"

if they would let a live action Garoyles get a piece of that pie it could be Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead type huge

it hits so many demographics

Elisa Maza = strong, smart, capable female lead, woman of color without being a "Mary Sue"

Goliath = the proxy of a strong, noble, proud, righteous, black man, the whole dynamic of the Garoyles and the Humans they align them self's with always remind me of some early 1900's Sharecropping type shyt in a weird way

Xanatos = the definition of "white male power fantasy" and that not necessarily a bad thing i could easily see him being the most popular character of the series sort of like a evil Tony Stark/Ironman replacement for the "fan boy's" now that Robert Downey jr is winding down in"'The MCU" best part is Xanatos is a legit great character in his own right just needs the mainstream exposure to pop

Demona = AKA "that crazy bytch" repping for all the bitter lonely women who legit feel they have been wronged by a man and going to get their revenge one way or another and pulse she has a great story arc if they pick the right actress i could see her becoming a fan favorite

Brooklyn,Lexington, Broadway = young wide eyed excitement for the new world they find them self in also set the table for a little bite of comedy that you could keep away from the serious nature of the rest of the show

you could maybe set the whole first season in medieval time just to really weigh down just how heavy shyt is that about to go down in future story arc's

the Avalon story arc maybe be be a movie trilogy

if they just can get CGI models down for the Garoyles shyt well be money and be what the new teen age ninja turtle movies were supposed to be

low key Disney might be sitting on a goldmine and not even know it sorta like with black panther maybe not as big as black panther but still a very profitable franchise nonetheless

The Unapproachable East
-Acquired Marvel Comics and Star Wars because they have trouble appealing to boys/male and wanted to lock down that demographic

-Immediately pivoted to pandering to girls/females, a demographic they have always had locked down to begin with, all the while chastising and admonishing males, alienating both the established fanbases and younger potential newcomers

-Do this for a decade or so, just to be back at square one, and arguably in worse position en vogue and/or financially

-Proceed to act shocked by the results

Anime has gen z in a chokehold take some pointers from them
They really need to depict the hero's journey in TV shows and films in a way that resonates with Gen Z males, especially those who read a lot of shonen manga. Much of the manga that young Gen Z males enjoy is centered around the hero's journey. I'm not sure why big film and TV studios are having such a hard time creating stories based on this concept.:jbhmm:

these guys stupid. All you need is an entry level sports car with some eyeballs voiced by popular gen Z comedians like Theo Von and Druski that transforms into a cooler more expensive car when angry. Throw a sexy car in there with some Ds on that bytch voiced by Boobi Althiot and you have a multi billion dollar franchise. Name it Whipz.
