PhD is one of he worst career choices. You don't get paid shyt and your stuck working as someone's slave for a decade. Why the fuk would you wanna do that shyt
Most Nigerians I know have a grad degree or are working toward it, my friend is Nigerian and both of his parents are doctors, as are his two older siblings, and he's applying for med school now. His brother is the Black Sheep of the family, and is probably going to go into law.My father has his PhD but he's Nigerian. It was fairly common back then to acquire one at least a masters.
With the inclining price of a 4 year degree, most people are checking out of university. Can't blame them
Okay, I never said that we were not; however the examples that were shown in the article weren't needed. My idea was that when us black people go to grad school or higher, it's in more lucrative fields like medicine, law or business. Should there be more representation amongst African Americans in Stem, Law and Business? Obviously the answer is yes; however the fields that were mentioned maybe just not be important or lucrative enough. Also I'm pretty sure Dr. Chanda Prescott, has a PHD in Astrophysics from MIT. I have to go check; but I'm pretty sure I read a article about her.Black people are underrepresented in all graduate programs, including Law, Medicine, Accounting, MBAs and MLAs.
It may help to read the full article, a lot of the concentrations are in specialised jobs, and even in things like Computer Science, and Engineering the numbers are woefully low, especially for Black men.

Damn... I was guess something like atleast 100 when I was reading this shyt. But not a single one???
Indeed she does, by far one of my favourite academics in the worldOkay, I never said that we were not; however the examples that were shown in the article weren't needed.
