Dispelling the myth: Wale is not a trash, or average rapper. In fact he is a phenom.

Didn't read the whole thread...but I always been a fan of Wale since I heard "One Thing About A Playa" All his mixtapes are decent...Wasn't feelin his first 2 CDs but Gifted is flames...and I really love his evolution as an artist. I can see how some people say he was (used to be) boring...but his flow...delivery...mic presence etc has gotten leaps and bounds better since he first came out. I still think he can improve...but if he keeps droppin shyt like Gifted...he's gonna go down as one of the greats

The booth is one of the best examples of the (sometimes) huge disparities between the internet and the real world. You'd be making a huge mistake to think the general opinion on here has any semblance of correlation to the real world.

This isn't 1999:russ: EVERYONE is on the Internet now. Social networking is a major part of people's lives.

The whole "only on the Internet" or "in the real world" doesn't fly anymore.

Hence why I said "sometimes". Hiphop messageboards from my experience usually tries to go against public perception for the most part. As dumb as twitter and facebook users can be, they are usually more in line with what's happening in the real world than rap messageboards.

I'll give you an example, if you use this website as a barometer for how big a music artist is, you'd think future was a bigger and more well liked artist than Wale, the way the former gets bigged up and the latter get torn to shreds.

Now look at their sales and you'll see Wale blows him out of the water. Same thing with Cole, people slander him here daily as boring (right or wrong). The public perception of him couldn't be any more different though, the guy is selling triple what Nas' last album sold, I'm talking NAS breh (far and away the most liked and popular artist on this site), you get the point I'm trying to make?

I put Wale in the category of "nikkas that can spit, but don't make the type of rap music that I like to listen to." Don't really feel his style like that to listen to him constantly. He does have his moments though.

At the end of the day he's far from being wack, but he's definitely not as nice as he thinks he is. :manny:

nikka I said akshon was my shyt. I fukked with mike hard back in the dizzy but dudes is washed up

the fact that you keep mentioning Akshon shows you're lost, R.A.P. Music was one of the better albums last year and better than either Gifted or Ambition, shyt Run The Jewelz is better as well. Just cuz you stopped payin attention because he's not rolling with Outkast anymore doesn't mean dude stopped rapping.
