One of best albums I listened too..real talk...I rarely skip a track on here....good fukking music...
Damn shame the album didn't get the recognition it deserved...

thanks for posting that. i'll never read that filthy bullshyt site again. This album is most definitely a barometer for someone's intelligence in my book. If you claim to dislike this album, I seriously question your overall intelligence. Real Talk.

And YN (boss of Rap Radar) has a thing out for Nas so who gives a fukk what him or his site think about anything Esco related
Yeah, it's a little too far saying everyone HAS to like the album, but I thought it was dope for the most part. Elliott Wilson isn't a huge fan of Nas. I remember one of the first "exclusives" Rap Radar got was an interview with Esco right after they announced the collaboration with Marley. He kept asking why he wasn't making an album with AZ. Safe to say he already had his mind made up about DR before it was even released. If you look at the album for what it is, rather than what it's not, I find it hard to believe anyone would think it's weak.

Saddest part is the same dudes who trash "Distant Relatives", hail "Watch the Throne". In reality, there hasn't been an album more relevant than "Distant Relatives" since Nas' "Untitled".

Oh yeah I actually liked Watch The Throne too, in MY opinion both albums are equal to each other in their own way. However, with all that coverage Hov and Ye got with that album, the same kind of coverage could have went to Nas and Damian. They were talking about some real issues and what they were saying was much more potent.

i love this album. one of the few that has come out in recent times that has stuck with me and i still play it.
although i can understand how folks feel like damian overshadowed nas, i think its because he did verses and the choruses meanwhile nas only did one chorus, but realistically they both blacked out all over the album album and both brought their A Game. and i dont have a problem with damian doing the choruses cause he was killin it.
when i first heard about the album i thought it was gonna be more up tempo like "welcome to jamrock" but i actually appreciate that it was introspective and that so much thought went into it. i think some people didn't really get it and maybe the serious tone made it hard for casual listeners to get into it, but to me this shyt is just dope.
i took "count your blessings" and "my generation" off because they kinda interupt the flow of the album for me, but other than that i love every song on their. the bonus cut "Ancient People" with JR Reid is dope too. So to me that is 12 tracks of nothing but dope shyt and it was some real shyt too

It's not about me. It's about that typical super Stan that justvsaidnthe only two important records of the last 4 years were two Nas albums. It's the absurdity of that school of thought that brings out my inner troll. You guys are sitting ducks.

Dope..Dope..album. This is the album where i feel got Nas prepared to get into the zone that he is in now. Nas blacked out all over this album especially his second verse at the end of "Strong Will Continue" and "Dispear" had a nikka like 
another underrated track that i never really heard too many speak about is "In His Own Words" shyt is beautiful
