WTT was a status quo album with elite production and packaging.. Although it seems that people want to credit it as sometype of "pro black" album..Which in fairness when set up against the money, clothes and hoes rhetoric of some of Jay's previous work makes that knee jerk reaction understandable...It was weird listening to Jay big up the concept of more women of color getting shine, while Kanye shamelessly lusted after white womenz....
American Gangster was more "pro Black" than WTT imo...And definately more focused and cohesive...
DR was a forward thinking album that wasn't produced and packaged on the same level as WTT... Partially due to the lacking of sexiness and box office of the participants...Outside of a vaccum I think 30 years from now DR will have much more value..But then again, the way society is trending, who is writing the history and what we value, Chief Keef might be the Gill Scott Heroin of the current generation...
At the end of the day, DR didn't have no club bangers..In an era where the church and the club are the two most powerful institutions in Black America, that will be viewed as a negative...
