It's fukked but sometimes it takes some self-awareness for this to change. My company when I started there had maybe 4 black people including me working there now three years later they have 50 it's a vast improvement. And seeing how film was traditionally locked off to black people due to us missing out on networking opportunities and not being in the white boys club. Thats pretty good.

This is why I won't throw all white people under the bus. Some are aware of their innate privilege. I used my network to get in the door and slowly things are improving.

But I used to go to places to work and the only black people there was security.

:francis:

And these were 500 employee companies.

YEP. I WAS 1/3 BLACK PEOPLE IN MY WORKPLACE AT FORD. I STARTED RECOMMENDING BLACK, ARABS, INDIANS, AND A TOKEN WHITE GUY FOR fukkERY. THAT DEPARTMENT LOOKED LIKE A "WE ARE THE WORLD" CONCERT PERFORMANCE WHEN I LEFT.

I work in tech too. When I did my CS degree, there are so many of us who give up because we don’t want to put in the work all weekend every weekend working on coding projects. We need to be willing to outwork everyone . That starts with learning reading and math in fukking kindergarten.

We need to stop asking for handouts and instead out compete everyone. We have been brainwashed into believing our only way to the top is by them giving us different rules, lowering the standard for us. We need to be the ones raising the standards.

Black people should have embraced the IT evolution and owned that industry, instead we let thousands-millions of Asians and Indians come here and take those jobs.

I know there has historically been a lot of racism and bullshyt we have to deal with. But what would Malcom say? What would booker t Washington say? Rise up! Outwork them. These companies are fighting hard for talent, so we can be that talent they fight for by learning the skills!

The thing is , we can work it from both sides. Im not victim blaming. We can improve ourselves and skillsets while still fighting against true systematic racism. But the notion that the only thing preventing there being 5x more blacks in tech and corporate America is just people not wanting to hire us is complete horse shyt. Look at SAT score distributions alone and you know that just isn’t true.

I cant speak of alot of point you touched because im not american but its not about even being smart it's about gaming the system and cheating anywhere and everywhere possible. These Asians are so on top of the game that they are services you can hire someone for 10k to cheat during a telephone interview and i know this for a fact :sas2:

A lot of racist tropes in your post. "Black folks don't work hard."

"Black folks don't value education."

"Black folks are just looking for handouts."

:mjpls:

While not factoring in how blacks will more than likely come from disadvantaged backgrounds. How many of those Asian tech bros came from poor families, or even families making an average American income? I'm guessing very few, and if they did come from a poor family I'm sure they had a rich uncle some where that would help them along the way.

Don't act like those fools aren't getting extra tutoring, camps, etc. Things the average black families are locked out of due to financial reason. So don't just come in here repeating those racist ass talking points with no context. Those folks don't face a fraction of the systematic obstacles black students face.

ACCRUED DISADVANTAGES

This is what ADOS/NBA have to deal with. This is why we need policies specifically designed to benefit US. Or else we will be left with this type of "Diversity".

Who cares if we face obstacles? You either overcome them or you don’t prosper. I’m so sick of the victim mentality.
