Drama beat that case...cause ATLANTIC RECORDS SAVED HIS A$$......which ALL RECORD COMPANIES should be doing for mixtape deejays THEY KNOWINGLY cosign and pass off "work too"!!
ATLANTIC RECORDS was part of that prosecution along with the RIAA to dismantle BCD music distribution which was distributing DJ DRAMA's mix cd's with BAR CODES to retail stores such as FYE and SAM GOODY and BEST BUY
WHICH IS A NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!....these mixtapes are for "promotional usuage" only
Drama's affilation with Grand Hustle which is distributed by Atlantic Records proved within thier defense that they (Dj Drama and the apphiliates) were acting on behalf of Atlantic Records in the promotion of thier product.
BIG MIKE is cosigned by the industry too...but if they DON'T STEP UP ON YOUR BEHALF then you WILL GET LEFT OUT TO BE HUNG by the RIAA PROSECUTION...
as for WAYNE that was the EVIL EMPIRE i recall that he had a problem with...although it was pretty evident Cortez Bryant or somebody in thierYMCMB camp was LEAKING THESE WELL MASTERED EXCLUSIVE TRACKS to the EVIL EMPIRE crew...
The whole issue is bullshyt...IT GOES BACK TO THE DJ CLUE DAYS...when DIDDY and BIGGIE wanted to MURK him , even though it was pretty clear THIER DISTRIBUTOR OR SOMEBODY IN THEIR CAMP leaked those BIGGIE tracks...which at the end of the day BENIFITED BIGGIE GREATLY!!
..MIXTAPE DEEJAYS have always been the FALL GUY for something that ISN'T EVEN REALLY ILLEGAL..which is the STREET PROMOTION OF MUSIC the RIAA and various LABELS still have a problem with it because they haven't been able to CAPITILIZE OFF OF IT, and it pisses them off when somebody like a DRAMA or even BIG MIKE who ALLEDGEDLY took in over 100,000 dollars within that year is NOT breaking off the label some of that guap.
it's a DIRTY GAME one of the reasons I STOPPED managing a Deejay down south...because the GAME is so grimy!!....he just came home from a bid late last year!!
