He states specifically where his sound came from, and it's not tha bay

like I said it came from ATL snap, just like hyphy

he credits Lil Jon as tha first person from where his sound originated

just like e-40 working with lil Jon for that club/snap sound (u and dat booty, rep yo city, etc)

nikkas was swearing up and down that dude wasn't influenced by the Bay. Now them nikkas is MIA. But to answer your question about who gives a fukk it's whoever clicked on this thread.

They dont know most these nikkas never stayed more than a few days at the least in cali. When i first heard of dude on these boards i thought "oh shyt the bay is about to be back in the mainstream" BUT hes from LA and thats a no no.
There used to be rules out in Cali and one was you cant be from southern cali and sound like a bay nikka. But hey things changed a long time ago.

Really? When did they have that rule? I been from Cali my whole life, never heard of it

Bay and LA have a long history, from poplockin (Long Beach & Oakland)

to tha Oakland Panthers coming to LA opening a LA chapter

Too Short moving from South Central to get away from tha hood, ending up in East Oakland where he eventually started rappin

Oh there were a few but you could count on one hand maybe two lol. Like i said we merged a long time ago but there was a point where LA nikkas respected the bay but had no desire to rap like them

He started to make beats when Hyphy had that little bit of buzz, hes a young guy.

Who said there was a 'rule' that rappers from LA and the Bay couldn't rhyme or sound the same? That sounds like some shyt someone just made up for The Coli.

Del, a Bay Area rapper, wrote lyrics for Ice Cube. They worked together on each others shyt. Tupac, who was in Oakland before he came to LA, sounded more like a Bay Area black panther than a blood/crip on wax. Brotha Lynch Hung who is from up north was heavy on that crip / gang banging horror core shyt.

Del and Ice Cube are cousins

Brotha Lynch is from Sac, not the Bay

I know they are but thanks for adding that for no reason, doesn't change the point being made.

Never said Brotha Lynch was from The Bay, I specifically said up North. However, this idea that someone from Southern California can't be influecned by someone from Northern California or vice versa, stands.

You mentioned Del and Cube like they were just two dudes with so much CaLiFoRNIa LoV3 for each other that they wrote each others shyt, i was clarifying that they are family, big difference

And in a topic specifically about the Bay and LA, there was no reason to bring up Lynch. Sac is clearly influenced by LA, any city bangin colors is. If u wanna bring up some weirdo Vietnamese crip rappers from San Jose w/ 30 youtube views then feel free, Sac aint part of the convo tho.

Bottom line is a LA nikka is gettin paid off the Bay's sound. If some nikka outta East Oakland came out reppin G-Funk rockin khakis and bandanas w/ lowriders all in his videos and started making national noise, all this "OMG we're all from the same coast Whuts The Big Deel?!" shyt would be out the window keep it real

No I didn't. You added that extra part. It doesn't matter if they were cousins or best friends, the point being made is that people from opposite areas of the state have and do work together. There is not some 'unwritten rule' about anything. You also completely side stepped the Tupac reference.

The topic isn't what I was responding to, I was responding to someone directly and you jumped in to throw out info that added nothing.

Richie Rich and E-40 rhymed over funk beats talking gangsta shyt, not really much different than what LA was doing minus the claiming of bloods/crips.

I'll go ahead and leave this here too, just because...
