Another story I remember - Aziz Ansari was hanging with Kanye (and Jay) around the recording of WTT.
He said they were watching a basketball game, Knicks I think, and talking. The three of them, maybe some other people. Then Jay taps Kanye and says "what you think of this?" and spits a whole verse. Ye says it's dope, Aziz is like "you thought of that while we were just sitting here?"
Aziz says the verse didn't get recorded or make the album, but then when MCHG dropped two years later he was listening to it and the bars sounded familiar, and he remembered some of the references being Italian, so I'm guessing the verse he was talking about is one of the verses from fukk With Me You Know I Got It.
I like hearing stories like these. They help flesh out the "Hov doesn't write" myth, because some people still think he just gets in a booth and freestyles, but really it's just spitting to yourself over and over again and remembering it. Sometimes it's really quick, like in the PSA case and this, and sometimes I assume it's over the course of days, weeks or months. Just adding 4/6 bars every time you think of them.
